Reviews and Ratings
I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The rooms were comfortable with good facilities like tea making and TV, but they looked a bit tired. However, there were issues over the passage not being in our room. The service was on point with a perfect stay, helpful staff, and a good included breakfast. The location was excellent for exploring all of York's attractions, but the basement setting was a bit dark. The dining took longer than expected on some days, but the food was of excellent quality. Overall, a stay with good and not-so-good aspects.
The hotel had some issues with the cleanliness and outdated feel of the rooms, although they were en suite. The basement location made them feel dark. However, the service was exceptional with very helpful staff. The location was ideal, just a short ride to the center of York. The dining experience was pleasant, while the facilities were satisfactory.
I had a wonderful stay at Holgate Bridge with its excellent location near the train station, city center, and amenities. The rooms were spacious, well-equipped, and impeccably clean, tended by a warm and accommodating host family. The breakfast service was top-notch, offering a great start to each day. The only downside was that the dining experience could be improved with more variety and temperature consistency of food.
The hotel is a bit hard to find initially, but once you're there, the location is excellent with an array of points of interest nearby. The rooms, although a bit too hot, are neatly kept. The service is cheerful and accommodating, especially the chatty Italian chef at breakfast. The dining experience is satisfactory with helpful recommendations for local visits. Overall, a mixed experience with some highlights and minor inconveniences.
The hotel is ideally situated near the center of York, just a short 5-minute walk to the city walls and a few more minutes to the shops and attractions. The rooms are spacious, bright, and immaculately clean, providing a warm and comfortable stay. The service is attentive and accommodating, although being split between two hotels caused some minor inconvenience on arrival. Dining options are excellent, offering a good variety at great value, especially the delicious sausages. However, the location might feel a bit cramped for some, particularly near the south city walls.
The hotel is situated in a quiet area, perfect for exploring York, with a convenient parking space provided. The rooms could benefit from some updates, but the service was considerate and thoughtful. Dining was satisfying, although not exceptional. Overall, a decent stay with good value for money.
